Weekend Training 15th/16th August

Saturday 15th - Bike ride leaving back of EK shop at 9am. All abilities (& types of bikes) are very welcome. Well done to Vicky last week who joined us on her mountain bike and did extremely well considering she had never done more than 10 miles before!!!! The short (no more than 15mins) run off the bike at the end is now a regular Saturday morning feature (albeit optional) so don’t forget your running shoes!!!

Sunday 16th - Long steady run. Meet at Hurlawcrook Road just before Golf course at 9am. It’s a longer run but with lots of short cuts (anything from 5 miles to 15 miles)!! If you are planning to run for more than an hour, don’t forget to bring extra water and fuel (e.g. gels, energy bars, etc…….)

Mandy

Ps. Good luck to Colin on Saturday at the Aberfeldy Half Ironman

Hi Mandy
Thanks again for looking after us on the long run!
I guess if we have splinter groups as we'll always have is it worthwhile publishing the route/map on the blog/website so everyone can logon and familiarise themselves?
Assuming this is minimal work!!

Regarding the route for different groups - we pretty much always run the same loops just in different orders & directions. If you are in a splinter group then you will probably run further than the others which then means publishing more than 1 route which is a bigger job. I always try & either run an extra section & regroup or run a steady run with tempo sessions built in & then run back to regroup.
