ATHelite Triathlon Club

Hey all, we have now established a Triathlon club. We are just putting together the final steps and hopefully we'll be launching ATHelite Triathlon Club in January...keep checking for details

ALL DONE

Hope you all had a wonderful time and managed to get a well deserved rest in.
Well that's that for another year.....we managed a 5k run on Christmas day and a 5k on Boxing Day. Both runs very just easy runs....easy for Colin maybe!!! I personally could've thrown up on Boxing Day...I thought I'd run through it but 4k into my 5k I still felt the same.
So that's us back on track now - a couple of easy runs to take us through till the end of December and the the programme begins.

Training

How quickly is next year coming!! I am starting to get nervous because come the New Year I only have 10 months to get into Ironman shape!!! aaarrrgghhh.
Not only that but I also have to try and complete it somewhere between 11hrs 4mins and 11hrs 26mins!! Well, it's called sibling rivalry! That's my 2 sisters FIRST Ironman times and I don't want to register the slowest time!!

Training

The last six weeks have just flown by...I reported, back then, that I had pick up an injury in my rotator cuff from too much swimming and well... I'd like to say too many push ups but I'm not sure if anyone else would call them push-ups. It's more hold the push-up position and pulse or shake! Anyway, saw David from Ace Physio and he confirmed that I am cured!!! Actually, my words not his but I do have full movement back. So, after many Christmas parties and nights out I am ready to start back, I'd like to say feeling refreshed from my sabbatical but I'm not however, I am just putting that down to the time of year. I need to start doing some base before I start my training programme in the New Year for the Ironman.

We just received a delivery of Nike lightweight running gloves and skullcap packaged up in a box. This would make for a great present as it is nicely packaged and what runner wouldn't want a good hat and gloves in the weather!!!
Made from Dri-Fit construction, this hat and glove set will keep you warm. The material will transfer any moisture away from the skin and keep you dry and comfortable. Both items have reflective detailing. RRP £16. You'll need to be quick if you're after this item as quantities are already dwindling..

Gore Spice III Lady Top

The Gore Spice III Lady Shirt is a fabulous top for this time of year. It comes with built in mitts!! You just fold the sleeves down and you're all ready on your way to warmer hands. This top also has a cosy hood. It's great when you're setting off and after about 5/10mins when you're warm you can drop the hood and fold back the sleeve - no need to load your pockets with a hat and gloves and worry about coming home with only one glove!! I only wear this top when it's freezing outside because it is so warm but if you always feel cold then this is the top for you. This top is also great for cycling. You can wear the hood up and your helmet fits neatly over it. Retails at £55.00
