Saturday Ride

Can I check if anyone is riding this Saturday as I think we are all doing the Ayr Duathlon.....let me know. If there is only one person out then I think we should cancel it.

looking to secure last place on sunday, and was not planning to cycle on saturday, unless others were going out and it was really easy

That place will be saved for me...so you'll have to take 2nd last!!

Race Practice
Sat, 6th June, at Doonfoot

There are two coached sessions, an easy cycle around the race route and an open water swim at the race venue.

The bike will include an overview of the race day arrangements [how transition will be set up, rules to watch out for etc.] and then a very easy cycle around the course, familiarising everyone with the route and highlighting things to look out for.

The open water swim will serve as an introduction to open water swimming and an opportunity for acclimatisation.

Both sessions are free !

Bike
Changed and ready to roll at 10:30, 1 hour very easy effort [there will be an option to finish last 8k fast if your itching to go fast]..

Open Water Swim
Changed and ready to go at 11:40 [high water 11:52], maximum time in water 30 minutes.

You need to bring:
road worthy bike [only bring a time trial bike if it's all you have]
helmet
wetsuit
bright coloured swim cap

Good idea to bring:
a buddy of roughly equal swim ability
hot drink for after swim
some food for after [coke and cake is traditional]
