Training Update

So the days are fairly flying by and we just have 7ish weeks to go till Copenhagen. Last week was a pretty rubbish training week, not really sure what happened but I felt very lacking in energy & the poor weather didn't help at all. I only managed 10 training hours which was only slightly more than a recovery week. The best session last week was an Ironman Distance Swim on Friday. I was 1hr 6 mins for 3.8k - a full 6 mins faster than my Ironman time last year & felt ok afterwards. The key to the swim is to finish feeling fresh & ready for the bike. Genevieve was also 6 mins faster than last year.

This week we have both bounced back feeling strong & the week should finish of by being our best training week so far.

Mon;  Am; 75 mile Bke, 1hr Run.
Tues;  Am; Tollcross Swim 2.5k.
Weds; Am; 2 hr steady Run - 15 miles.
Pm; Club Swim Session 1 hr.
Thurs;  Am; 1 hr Core, 1 hr Tempo Run to work
           Pm; Run Hill Efforts
Fri;      Am; 1hr Core/Stretch
Pm; 2 hr bike to Loch
           Pm; Open Water Swim
Sat;     REST!!
Sun;    Am; 50 mile Bike to Peebles
Pm; Straight into Pebbles Beltane 10k Trail Race!

Total 20 hours.

Next week is our second biggest event of the year - The challenging 'Day in the Lakes' Half Ironman in the Lake District (therefore it is very hilly!). We are to still have a full training week so it's going to be a tough one but there are a few of us doing it solo or in relays & we are looking forward to camping & BBQing either side of the race!
