Ironman Training - Status Report

A couple of people have actually asked to see our current training schedule - must be so they can have a right good laugh at us.
Our training plan came to us a bit late from Pauline this week, excusable given that she has just done Lake Placid Ironman, finishing as 5th Female Pro & once again has qualified for the Kona, Hawaii World Champs. Go Pauline!!

Our training this week consists of the following stupidity......

Sun 2nd..........2hr 15 Long Run (1st hr easy, 2nd hr moderate. Last 15min 90 cadence)
Mon 3rd..........5 hr Bike (increased effort from hour 3 to 4), 20 min run off the bike.
Tues 4th.........Am; Gym then Swim (1500 w/up, 3 x 400, 300 w/dn = 3k)
.............................Pm; Bike 1 hr easy (didn't do this - had to go & buy a kitchen!)
Weds 5th........Open Water Swim 1200m into 41 min run (21 mins out 20 mins back negative split)
Thurs 6th........Am; Bike 1hr (20 min w/up 6 x 4 min efforts, 2 min recovery)
..............................Pm; Run 1 hr hills
Fri 7th............Am; Gym & Swim (1hr 30 3.5k+)
.............................Pm; Bike - easy
Sat 8th............Rest

Total 16 hrs

So far this week I think we are feeling physically pretty good. I personally found the long Sunday run fairly easy & felt fresh on the long bike the next day. A good session last night at the Loch & a good run despite the hills. Hit the bike efforts feeling physically fresh this morning at 7.30am but just very tired from lack of sleep. We have been so busy during the day in the shops & we are also trying to sort the house so we can actually move into it before Christmas. Unfortunately this has ended up with us shopping at 10pm for the last 2 nights after training. I need to be home & in bed much earlier than this!!
Ps. Genevieves new Tri Bike arrived yesterday so keep your eyes peeled for that one!
