The Super Sprint results are in - good to see 7 out of the 12 competitors were from ATHelite.
Note - don't worry, James did not just drown, he pulled out due to excessive DIY in the run up.
Forgive the higgledy piggledy table - it seems impossible to put a table on the blog (impossible for me anyway).

thanks to all for organising
Oh dear!
19m 12s for 600m!!
Having swum 4 x 1500m in the previous two weeks, each one under 30 mins, that looks even more miserable! :-(
Energy deficit and tummy bug aside it looked like an enjoyable event for the majority if not for me.
of course I can only coment on the swim (very slow swim!)- I think the man in the yellow cap that swam straight over me probably punched Colin's goggles off too! Which proves I'm not the only one who can't swim straight! Therein lies my problem - I need to learn how to do that properly first! Can't we paint fluorescent lines on the bottom of the lake? Get the Red Arrows to fly overhead or invent an in-your-ear gps sonar device that gives you a second by second homing signal?
Seriously, for the more accomplished triathletes it looks a good session, although I do think running each phase as a time trial would be much better as a trianing exercise.

PS b****y weeds didn't help!
If it's any consolation Jiminy - hardly anyone swam straight....i was watching and one person inparticular must've swam double the distance as they zig-zagged the entire way!!! Before you say anything they had a blue cap on.......
The blue cap might have been me. Couldn't see where I was going on the the way out. Thought I was only person in the loch for most of the out swim. Doesn't inspire me for Sunday. :)
I have found something else I struggle at (apart from swimming, cycling & running) and that is posting a blog! Original one disappeared so in summary thanks for the organising and the encouragement. I was made to feel part of the team. Good luck on Sunday.
On 26th I will be competing (with myself) at the Strathclyde Olympic distance raising money for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres (£3,500 so far). If you are feeling generous go to www.justgiving.com/derekstewart - thanks and see you soon.
To all who organised the event, thanks very much; it was a fantastic introduction to triathlon for me.
Jiminy, as the (only?) man in a yellow cap, please accept my apologies. I can only put my fumbling about down to the virginal nature of my foray into open water. Hopefully my technique will improve with experience.....
Hi Doug!
Keeping your goggles mist free is absolutely essential. I'm making a point now of spitting copiously just before I secure them and start the race! I sighted every four strokes on Sunday and that worked too! The say don't flick your head clear of the water as your hips drop and you drag immediately, personally I can't do otherwise at the moment especially in choppy conditions, calm waters may be different! Hope that helps.
