Sunday Morning Run

Sunday morning, Graham R, Aileen, Graeme A and I showed our commitment and headed off on the long, steady run…. (Not so sure about the “steady” when you have folks like Graham R and Colin setting the pace!!!). So with Graham R steaming ahead (that’s both in terms of running speed & volume of talking) and me as navigator we set off on our travels around the scenic countryside of Auldhouse & beyond…unlike the cyclists on the Saturday, no stop offs for tea, buns or shopping as we are made of hardier stuff! …I somehow managed to stick with Graham R all the way round, yes quite an achievement for me as at his pace my breathing was off the scale but I still managed to chuck in the occasional monosyllable, at the appropriate moments, to his colourful stories!!! Seriously though, I think it was his chat that kept me going. Aileen and Graeme A took the last cut off to complete an 8 mile loop….fantastic achievement for Graeme A who was only running the occasional 5k distance a few weeks ago….. Graham and I finished the 10.3 mile route & were well chuffed with ourselves despite knowing we would pay later in the day as the muscle tiredness & soreness kicked in!!!! But all in all a great run, in perfect running weather…

You can't beat a 'good' story to block out the pain!
I can talk for Scotland (as most of you know LOL!).

Great run, and as Mandy said, we were both chuffed with our distance.
I'm finding the increased distance quite a challenge (especially the affect on my knees) but hoping with time it will become easier (will it?!?!?!).

Anyway, good excuse to give cutting the grass on Sunday afternoon a miss!
